Daily Dose of Vitamin G

Flintstones Vitamins, anyone? Maybe I’m aging myself, but if you grew up in the ’90s, there’s a good chance these were part of your daily routine as a kid. I’m not sure how much they were actually doing for us, but they definitely tasted good…well, as long as mom gave you the right color that day (not orange 😄).

Most people know vitamins are important for our health. There are two main categories: fat-soluble (vitamins A, D, E, and K) and water-soluble (vitamin C and the B vitamins). Each one plays a different role in the body, and all of them matter. Ideally, we get these from the food we eat, but since most people don’t get enough, supplements can sometimes help fill the gap.

But there’s one crucial “vitamin” for our health and wellness that isn’t listed above: Vitamin G—gratitude.

This is exciting stuff because research shows that practicing gratitude can actually rewire your brain. Why does that matter? Because if we can change the way we think, we can change our whole lives. Gratitude has been shown to increase dopamine and serotonin, lower cortisol, reduce blood pressure, and help build resilience. That’s a pretty powerful daily dose, and it might even beat the days mom handed us a red or pink Flintstone.

The best part? It’s simple and accessible to everyone. If you already have a daily Vitamin G habit, that’s awesome—keep it up. You can’t overdose on it. If you don’t, here are a few ways to start:

  • Write down 3 things you’re thankful for each day

  • Go for a gratitude walk and speak out what you’re thankful for

  • Tell someone you appreciate them through a call, text, or note

  • In a challenging moment, look for 1–3 things you’re still grateful for

  • Keep a “gratitude box” and revisit it at the end of the week or month

Like anything else, the impact isn’t in doing it once—it’s in doing it consistently. When you choose to focus on what’s good, you begin to see more of it. And unlike some vitamins, you can’t take too much of this one. The more Vitamin G you build into your life, the healthier you’ll become—mentally, emotionally, and even physically.

Just1More daily “supplement” that can change everything.
